National Survey of Student Engagement

Introduction:

The National Survey of Student Engagement (NSSE) is an annual on-line survey that is administered to a sample of first-year students and seniors. The purpose of the survey is to be used as a means to assess the extent at which students become involved in educational practices associated with high levels of learning and development. Actual administration was conducted by the Center for Postsecondary Research at Indiana University, Bloomington.

NSSE Cohort Profile:

The NSSE survey calls for a randomly selected sample where the sample size is based on the total number of undergraduate students enrolled at a given institution. In addition, this selected sample follows the standard to have an equal number of randomly selected first-year and senior students.
